Role & responsibilities
The Senior Ping Directory Engineer is responsible for executing the enterprise-wide strategy for directory services, which includes Identity Access Management, Oracle LDAP, Microsoft LDS, and Microsoft Active Directory. Additionally, Ping Directory engineering/operations is responsible for supporting automated user provisioning and authentication. This hands-on position requires a subject matter expert (SME) with strong collaboration skills to work with cross functional teams to ensure the design of technology solutions complies with information security policies and regulatory obligations.
The Senior Ping Directory Engineer must be an adaptable, pragmatic, and positive professional, who is comfortable in delivering clear and concise information at both a technical and managerial level. - Hands on experience in migrating to Ping Directory from any other directory service.
- Experience in Directory Installation and configuration of Ping Directory in production environment
- Experience troubleshooting SSO issues, User creation and modification related issues.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting, upgradation of Ping Directory
- Excellent understanding of enterprise LDAP deployments
- Excellent understanding of the internet protocols TCP/IP, LDAP/LDAPS, SSL/TLS etc.
- Hands on experience with LDAP products, preferably with OUD, Ping Directory and Unbound ID. Other Similar experience on other LDAP products on Linux platform would also be considered.
- Proven architectural and design background with development experience in scripting like shell, ansible and Perl.
- Experience working with LDAP ACIs and Custom ACI design.
- LDAP integration with third-party products
- Execute monitoring strategies for monitoring and reporting health of Ping Directory components.
- Be available to all information technology groups of a large enterprise, both within IT operations as well as in other IT divisions to help and facilitate the integration or support of the Ping Directory.
- Continually monitor the environment to ensure best practices and Federal guidelines are being followed.
- Create and maintain support documentation, asset inventory, and tracking of the enterprise infrastructure.
- Work closely with desktop and server administrators to define and execute appropriate Group Policy, scripting, related to directory hierarchy, objects, and structure.
Job Responsibilities
- Support quarterly patching of the infrastructure includes Ping Directory , OUD , Java, WebLogic, OEM and manage OS related issues and supports all the global regions and environments.
- Provide L1 & L2 support Ping Directory related technology and escalate to L3 team.
- Support Ping one directory services.
- Ability to fine tune the infrastructure, monitoring, problem resolution and identification of root cause.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with Splunk monitoring tools and create proactive dashboards/ alerts.
- Establish collaborative working relationships with the businesses, functions, and regions to ensure that directory services align with MetLifes security architecture and business strategy.
- Work with global partners to migrate end users from mergers & acquisitions into directories.
- Responsible for day-to-day administration duties including Ping Directory object maintenance, troubleshooting and repair tasks.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery practices and procedures.
- Handle requests via thru Incident/Problem Management tool
- Ability to coordinate and perform Disaster Recovery exercises.
- Break/Fix response for all supported services.
