Procurement GM /AGM act as the primary point of contact between suppliers and a business. They are responsible for the procurement of products and goods for use in the business by identifying potential supplier sources, screening them and negotiating favorable payment terms. Other duties include monitoring supplier performance and ensuring contractual obligations are met. The typical job progression of procurement managers is to an executive or directorial position.
A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is often required to be a GM /AGM with most managers holding a master's degree in purchasing management. Extensive experience working in a procurement department is necessary before being assigned to a managerial position and additional certification obtainable from the Next Level Purchasing Association or the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council is desired. Successful candidates have excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build a good rapport with suppliers while keeping the company's interests in mind.
Responsibilities for GM /AGM
- Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers
- Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements
- Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers
- Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing
- Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production
- Process purchase orders to acquire goods
- Work closely with the legal department to ensure contract terms are favorable to the company
- Attend meetings with the legal team, engineering team, vendors and suppliers
- Analyze and identify new growth opportunities for essential business. Driving significant top and bottom-line results.

- Work with some really smart people, and still raise the bar for all of us
- Ability to work and collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders through strong project management and communication. Key teams to work with will be platform growth, creative communication and supply management.

- High volume of procurement logistics knowledge supply chain management
Qualifications for GM /AGM
- Extensive experience working in the procurement department in a related field
- Master's degree in purchasing management preferred
- Certification from the Next Level Purchasing Association or the Universal
- Public Procurement Certification Council desired
- Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Able to travel to meet with suppliers and work overtime as required
Procurement- Executive,Chennai CTC: 3L TO 4L ANNUAL
The goal of Kurinjee essentials business is to meet the daily commerce and services requirements of customers and give the best customer experience. The essential stores need to have the best selection at the best price. This role will require building partnerships with brands, adding selection, overseeing negotiations, planning marketing promotions and driving operational improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Experience in analyzing new business opportunities, driving significant top and bottom-line results.
- Lead procurement and supplier management for Kurinjee "Essentials"
- Ability to drive decisions with data.
- Proven experience in consumer-facing sectors - Retail/ FMCG / Modern trade Preferred
- Strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and partnership management
- Ability to think strategically - define long term view and path to get there
- Should be able to drive execution of critical tactical things.
- Analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail is a must
- Ability to work and collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders through strong project management and communication
- Operate independently, take ownership and drive results
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across functions within the organization
- Build a relationship with FMCG brands and manufacturers - % growth of brands for essentials
- Build favorable terms of trade with the suppliers for Kurinjee Trading business - Store margin % and efficiency of working capital
- Manage offers and growth opportunities with brands - Offer spend, % of growth coming from offers.
Skills And Qualification:
- Data-driven decision making and strong analytical thinking
- Good interpersonal skills to build and grow valuable business networks and partnerships.
- Experience of 3+ years in FMCG/Retail
- Procure to pay and order to cash cycle understanding
- Procurement experience for Grocery stores is a plus
- ERP understanding is a plus
