Job Description
- Preparing and Setting Up Equipment : Endoscopy Technicians are responsible for preparing and setting up the endoscopy suite, including ensuring that all endoscopic instruments, scopes, monitors, and other equipment are clean, sterile, and in proper working condition
- Assisting During Procedures : During endoscopic procedures, Endoscopy Technicians assist the medical team by passing instruments, scopes, and accessories to the physician or endoscopist as needed
- They also help with patient positioning, comfort measures, and monitoring vital signs throughout the procedure
- Maintaining Sterile Field : Endoscopy Technicians adhere to strict aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile field during endoscopic procedures
- They handle instruments and equipment using proper sterile techniques, maintain sterile draping, and ensure that infection control protocols are followed at all times
- Troubleshooting Equipment : Endoscopy Technicians troubleshoot technical issues with endoscopic equipment and instrumentation as they arise during procedures
- They quickly identify and address equipment malfunctions or irregularities to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety and effectiveness of the procedure
- Cleaning and Sterilizing Equipment : After each procedure, Endoscopy Technicians are responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing endoscopic instruments, scopes, and accessories according to established protocols and guidelines
- They ensure that all equipment is properly processed and ready for the next use
- Patient Care and Comfort : Endoscopy Technicians provide compassionate care and support to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
