Job Description
A Manufacturing Engineer designs, develops, and optimizes production processes to ensure high-quality goods are made efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. Their duties include developing manufacturing methods, selecting equipment, improving workflows, reducing waste, troubleshooting line issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure production targets are met on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Optimization:
Create, improve, and implement manufacturing processes, systems, and workflows.
Equipment Management:
Install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment and assembly lines.
Quality Assurance:
Develop and implement quality control systems to ensure products meet specifications.
Cost Reduction:
Identify and implement cost-saving measures and waste reduction strategies.
New Product Introduction (NPI):
Support the introduction of new products by developing and refining the manufacturing processes for them.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve problems on the production line.
Collaboration:
Work with other departments, such as design, quality, maintenance, and production staff.
Automation & Tooling:
Research and implement automation opportunities, design fixtures, and develop specialized tooling.
Essential Skills
Technical Skills:
CAD/CAM software proficiency, process design, automation systems, and material science.
Analytical Skills:
Statistical analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking, and process optimization.
Project Management:
Overseeing budgets, managing project timelines, and coordinating technical staff.
Communication & Teamwork:
Effectively communicating with cross-functional teams and collaborating to achieve common goals.
