Job Description
-
Operate and monitor process equipment such as high-pressure reactors, continuous distillation columns, catalytic reactors, scrubbers, compressors, and batch plants.
-
Monitor and control process parameters as per SOPs and ensure smooth handover to incoming shifts.
-
Handle tanker loading/unloading operations for raw materials and finished products.
-
Communicate promptly with control room/supervisors in case of process deviations or equipment abnormalities.
-
Record and maintain accurate log data of process parameters; track performance trends.
-
Raise work orders for equipment/instrument malfunctions and coordinate safe handover to maintenance staff under PTW procedures.
-
React promptly to plant process/safety emergencies as per company HSE procedures.
-
Ensure optimal usage of raw materials, chemicals, and utilities to reduce cost and wastage.

Support preventive maintenance activities and coordinate with maintenance, lab, and service departments for smooth operations.

Conduct planned inspections and safety tours to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
-
Perform routine operational tasks such as sample collection, lubrication, filter changes, and minor adjustments in coordination with relevant teams.

Prepare and report daily/weekly chemical stock and consumption; raise requests for replenishment.

Support PSSR, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and project activities as required.

Maintain housekeeping standards and compliance with company HSE and 5S procedures.

Enter and update records in SAP, MES, MAINTWIZ, and other systems.

Update and maintain environmental and quality compliance records.
-
Report production progress, issues, and deviations to supervisors on a regular basis.
-
Achievement of production targets while complying with SOP, Quality, and EHS norms.

Minimization of equipment downtime and prompt reporting of abnormalities.
-
Effective utilization of raw materials and utilities with minimal wastage.
-
Compliance with HSE, 5S, and housekeeping standards.
-
Accuracy and timeliness of reporting and log maintenance.
-
Diploma/Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline.
-
2-5 years of industrial experience in production/operations within chemical/petrochemical industries.
-
Exposure to DCS, MES, and chemical safety systems preferred.
-
Strong knowledge of process operations (reactors, distillation, compressors, scrubbers, utilities).
-
Familiarity with DCS, MES, and SAP for plant operations.
-
Understanding of PTW systems, preventive maintenance, and safety inspections.
-
Ability to analyze and maintain production logs, breakdowns, and compliance reports.
Role Purpose
To manage shift field operations of VAM and VAE plants by leading and supervising production activities during the shift, ensuring targeted output while maintaining SOP compliance, quality, and EHS norms.
