Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. MEP Operations & Maintenance
- Ensure reliable operation of HVAC, medical gas systems, electrical supply, backup power, water supply, fire-fighting systems, lifts, and plumbing.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Oversee quick resolution of MEP breakdowns in critical hospital areas (ICU, OT, ER, Labs).
2. Project Planning & Execution
- Manage MEP design, installation, and commissioning for hospital expansions or renovations.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors for MEP projects.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, ASHRAE, and local building/fire safety codes.
3. Energy & Sustainability Management
- Monitor energy and utility consumption; implement efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Explore renewable and green building practices (solar, STP, HVAC optimization).
- Prepare regular MIS reports on energy utilization and cost savings.
4. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure hospital systems meet statutory norms (fire NOC, pollution control, electrical safety, biomedical waste).
- Conduct risk assessments, safety drills, and staff training on emergency handling.
- Maintain documentation required for audits, inspections, and accreditation.
5. Team & Vendor Management
- Lead and mentor the MEP operations team, ensuring skill development and adherence to SOPs.
- Manage vendor contracts, AMCs, and service-level agreements.
- Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate cost-effective solutions.
