Job Description
Job Title: Technical Java Project Manager
Location: Chennai, India
Experience: 8 to 12 Years
Job Type: Permanent (Full-time)
Work Mode: Monday to Friday (Work from Office)
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Java Project Manager to lead end-to-end Java-based application development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java technologies, software development life cycle (SDLC) management, and team leadership, with the ability to interact with stakeholders, manage technical teams, and deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Java-based software development projects from initiation to closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and product owners.
- Drive project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to agile methodologies, coding standards, and project governance.
- Review technical solutions and provide guidance on Java development best practices.
- Track project progress and report status to senior management and clients.
- Manage client expectations and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor and guide Java development teams for continuous improvement and upskilling.
Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Hibernate
- Familiarity with Microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is preferred
- Proficiency with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes is an advantage
- Experience with database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Sound knowledge of Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in Java development with at least 3+ years in a project management or technical lead role
- PMP, CSM, or equivalent project management certification is a plus
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Experience managing onsite-offshore delivery models
- Previous experience in banking, fintech, or enterprise application domains
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
