Job Description
Role & responsibilities:1. Develop and implement site specific EHS plan to ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.2. Conduct and review all contractors risk assessments and identify potential hazards on the construction site. Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.3. Compile and analyse safety statistics and identify the trends and areas for improvement. Prepare and present safety performance reports to client and internal team as per the agreement.4. Conduct regular audits and evaluations to identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the safety management system as per the instructions. 5. Lead the response to incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Follow up on corrective actions to prevent recurrence and follow the reporting protocol.6. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine causes and implement preventive measures. Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations and release to the client/contractor as per the advice of client and account manager.7. Organize and monitor safety training sessions for all contractors site personnel to ensure they are aware of safety protocols and procedures as per committed.8. Organize regular site inspections, safety walk-through with site team to monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Identify and record all unsafe practices and conditions and take corrective actions.9. Ensure that construction activities comply with BOCWA / local, state regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation and industry standards.10. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Ensure all contractor personnel are trained on emergency response and evacuation procedures.11. Conduct regular safety meetings with contractor team to discuss safety issues, progress, and improvements, and sharing minutes to all stakeholders. 12. Maintain safety documents as per SOP and keep detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and other relevant documentation. They ensure that all records are up to date and easily accessible.13. Work closely with Clients and contractor to ensure safety measures are integrated into project planning and execution,14. Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement among all site personnel. 15. Conducting regular internal safety audits and sharing report to project manager for compliances. 16. Celebrating Fire Safety week, Road safety week, National Safety week and World Environment Day at regional PDS sites.Preferred candidate profile:
- Required. Minimum of 15 years of experience related to Construction safety management.
- Degree in Technical or Science from recognized university.
- Diploma in industrial safety management from recognized university.
- NEBOSH, IOSH
- Certified safety auditor
- Very good knowledge on regional EHS norms pertaining to their service line
