What youll do:
In your role as Applied AI Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, coding, testing, and quality assurance in a development team. You will assess and solve issues in new or existing code, and work with high attention to detail, reliability, and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with your team members to ensure success. In your day-to-day you will:
- Work with a team of highly technical and motivated developers.
- Collaborate and work with teams spread across geographies and time zones.
- You will work on the entire lifecycle of standard SAP application development.
- Develop, integrate, and optimize applications powered by LLMs and multimodal generative models.
- Apply prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and RAG techniques to improve model accuracy and reliability.
- Business application Agent development
- Design and implement AI pipelines (data ingestion, embeddings, vector databases, knowledge retrieval).
- Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers to build production-ready APIs and interfaces.
- Collaborate and work to deploy, monitor, and scale models.
- Evaluate and compare foundation models for business use cases.
- Implement guardrails, safety mechanisms, and bias detection to ensure responsible AI usage.
- Research and experiment with new generative AI techniques
- Document architecture, design decisions, and best practices for reuse across projects.

- Bachelors/master s degree in computer science, machine learning, data science or related fields, with knowledge and experience on knowledge representation
- 5+ years of industry experience in a data scientist role
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and GenAI APIs.
- Knowledge of vector databases and data pipelines.
- Experience in fine-tuning, embeddings, and prompt engineering.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles (APIs, microservices, version control with Git).
- Exposure and experience of Agent development using open-source tools like lang graph , MCP sever development is preferred.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and translate business needs into AI solutions.
- Hands on experience with computational packages (Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, StatsModels, Keras, Tensorflow, etc.) and visualization tools.
- DevOps knowledge (CI/ CD, Jenkins, Pipeline Management) is desirable.
- Highly proficient in SQL and good knowledge of relational database
- Experience in working with GPUs to develop models and model deployment
- Possess strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Past and current experience writing and speaking about complex technical concepts to broad audiences in a simplified format.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior Work experience with SAP BTP is desirable.
