Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Perform data enquiry, data analysis and data sourcing in Relational and Big Data database environments.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the data definitions, domain values, data relationships, business rules, sources, and data integration used in the business domain
- Develop a thorough understanding of the technology systems; data stores, data pipelines, job streams etc.
- Translate business requirements into data models and program design specifications
- Modify ETL and other programs to implement changes to business requirements
- Respond to questions from business analysts and developers regarding query building and optimization
- Troubleshoot data issues and work with data providers for resolution. Perform L3 support when needed
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling
- Strong SQL query-writing skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with coding in one or more of : Python, shell, Spark programs
- At least 5 years financial industry technology experience and knowledge of financial services data
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with analyzing and coding ETL programs
- Experience with coding Autosys job definitions
- Experience with Data Modeling tools (e.g., Power Designer)
