Lead Systems Engineer - GCP @ Epam Systems

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Systems Engineer to take ownership of the design, implementation, and maintenance of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments for cutting-edge projects.

This role requires a visionary with extensive cloud expertise to lead infrastructure initiatives, ensure system reliability, and push the boundaries of innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and optimize GCP architecture to support the project's data mesh goals
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions tailored for GCP services
• Automate deployment and management workflows using GitHub Actions and cloud-native tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape cloud infrastructure aligned with business objectives
• Ensure platform scalability, security, and operational reliability through proactive strategies
• Create comprehensive documentation for GCP setups and processes to guide future development
• Address technical challenges and performance issues within the GCP ecosystem
• Lead DevOps best practices and integrate ongoing pipeline improvements

Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in cloud and systems engineering roles
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform services across compute, storage, networking, and security
• Strong background in designing innovative GCP cloud architectures and implementing them
• Proficiency in DevOps workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like GitHub Actions
• Understanding of complex problem-solving techniques to diagnose and resolve cloud issues
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code platforms and methodologies relevant to GCP environments
