GIS Analyst @ S&P Global Market

General Job Duties

• Create new GEPS maps when required.
• Update GEPS maps assigned in the work queue.
• Liaise with printshop to have published maps printed as required and assist with QC issues.
• Ensure GEPS and Online store have newly available maps and report any issues to appropriate teams and product management.
• Report errors with data to appropriate regional team members and/or Modular managers to ensure data is corrected.

Additional Job Duties

• Train and mentor junior team members.
• Create custom one-time maps at product management and regional team request.
• Cover for sickness and holiday within the cartography team.

Education

• A-Levels or other further education qualifications in Geography/Geology or design subjects with a strong interest in GIS and Cartography.
• Desirable - First degree(BSc) or equivalent in Spatial Data/GIS or Geography with a heavy GIS bias.

Experience

• Interest in cartography.
• GIS system knowledge proficient in use of ESRI software suite or equivalent.
• Understanding of mapping principles to include a good knowledge of projections and their uses.
• Good design skills, Good attention to detail.
• Cartographer (0 - 3 years experience), Senior Cartographer (5+ years experience)
