Job Description
Job Title: LaTeX- Composer
Location: Puducherry
Department: Production / Publishing
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled LaTeX Composer to join our print and publishing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, formatting, and preparing high-quality print-ready documents using LaTeX. This role involves working closely with editors, designers, and production staff to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with publishing standards for books, journals, technical manuals, and other printed materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge in First XML Workflow.
- Compose and typeset complex documents using LaTeX, including books, academic journals, technical manuals, and reports.
- Convert manuscripts and raw content from authors and editors into LaTeX source files.
- Implement and maintain document styles, templates, and layouts in accordance with publisher specifications.
- Collaborate with editorial and design teams to ensure correct formatting of figures, tables, equations, citations, and bibliographies.
- Troubleshoot and debug LaTeX compilation errors and formatting issues.
- Optimize documents for print quality and electronic distribution (PDF generation, embedding fonts, etc).
- Ensure consistent application of typographical standards and house styles.
- Stay current with best practices and updates in LaTeX packages, tools, and publishing workflows.
- Assist in developing automated scripts or workflows to streamline typesetting processes.
- Maintain clear documentation of templates and style files for internal use.
Preferred candidate profile:
- 2+ Years Experience.
- Printing & Publishing sector.
- Any Degree/ Diploma.
