Data Engineer - Azure Data Factory @ Citiustech

Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to spearhead the migration of data workflows from Alteryx to Azure Data Factory (ADF) and transition on-prem SQL Server databases to Azure SQL Database. This is a critical role for driving scalable, cloud-native data architecture and enabling advanced analytics across the enterprise.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end migration of Alteryx workflows into robust ADF pipelines
• Migrate legacy SQL Server databases to Azure SQL Database with minimal disruption
• Architect and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance data pipelines using Azure tools
• Design cloud-native data models to support analytics, reporting, and enterprise data architecture
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into optimized data solutions
• Ensure data integrity through validation, reconciliation, and quality checks post-migration
• Tune performance of Azure SQL databases and ADF pipelines for efficiency and scalability
• Document architecture, migration strategies, and best practices for future reference
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects

What You Bring

• Bachelors or masters in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, and cloud data platforms
• Deep expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Alteryx
• Strong command of SQL, Python, and/or PowerShell for scripting and automation
• Hands-on experience with Azure services: Blob Storage, Key Vault, Synapse, Logic Apps
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills

Bonus Skills

• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in Azure
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI
• Exposure to PySpark, PL/SQL, and other big data technologies
