Linux Administrator - Chennai @ Inspirisys

Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• Installation of Operating System in x86 servers (e.g. Windows and RHEL), upgrades including version upgrade and regular patches. Windows and RHEL OS Clusters.

• Installation, creation and configuration of MSSQL Database.

• Management of x86 Servers including backup, restoration.

• Fine tuning for optimum performance.

• Proactive Disk Space and CPU usage Management.

• Reloading OS on servers.

• Creating new file systems and File system management.

• Creation of shell scripts or batch programs to automate procedures as and when advised by bank team including cron-jobs management.

• MS SQL, Database backup, replication to DR Site and database migration.

• Implementation and remediation of Audit / VAPT recommendations.

• Support during DR Drill, Database maintenance activity including activities happening during night hours.

• Log call with OEM / system integrator support helpdesk (e.g. Bank has EA with Microsoft) and resolve the issues as and when required.

• Support during DR dril

• Virtualization management of all the servers in VMs

• OS hardening and server configuration management.

• OS level Backup and Restoration with the help of Backup Admin as per banks backup policy.

• User access Management

• OS level server security management

• Ensure that the systems are maintained fully secured and well protected and system are away from any type of malwares etc.

The Engineer must have Redhat Certification

Experience: - Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience as L2 engineer

Qualification : Bachelors Degree in IT Background
