Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior Database Administrator to support and maintain our database environments across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL platforms in a hybrid on-premises and cloud setup. The ideal candidate will assist in day-to-day administration, performance monitoring, and maintenance tasks while building expertise in database technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with database backup, recovery, patching, and routine maintenance activities across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL environments.
Monitor health and availability of production and non-production database instances.
Support cloning and refresh cycles for development, testing, and UAT environments.
Participate in database deployment activities, including version control and migration execution.
Help maintain and develop automation scripts for health checks, maintenance, and cleanup tasks.
Support compliance and security policies by assisting with user/role audits and SOX-related access reviews.
Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaborate closely with Application DBAs for Oracle E-Business Suite environment support and troubleshooting.
Willing to work in shifts
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2-3 years of experience in database administration or related roles
Exposure to at least one or more of the following RDBMS platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with backup and recovery tools such as RMAN (Oracle), SQL Server Maintenance Plans, or pg_dump.
Basic scripting skills in Shell, PowerShell, or Python for automation.
Understanding of core database concepts: indexes, views, stored procedures, roles/permissions.
Strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and ability to follow documented procedures.
Good communication and documentation skills.
