Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Specialist to review electrical drawings and documentation for accuracy, safety, and coordination with other disciplines before progressing to permitting, bidding, or construction. This role is vital in ensuring design integrity and smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review electrical drawing sets (power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, low voltage, special systems) for accuracy, completeness, and code compliance.
- Identify and document errors, omissions, conflicts, and constructability issues in electrical systems.
- Cross-check electrical drawings against architectural, structural, and mechanical plans to detect coordination issues.
- Provide clear, concise written comments and markups for drawing corrections.
- Support quality-control checklist development and internal review standards.
- Collaborate with the product team to integrate electrical considerations into AI features.
- Provide feedback on AI model improvements based on real-world quality assurance findings.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
- 5+ years of professional experience in electrical design or construction quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of electrical plans and schematics (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communication systems, security, panel schedules, etc.).
- Familiarity with construction management and real-world constructability.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with design review tools (e.g., Bluebeam); electrical design software knowledge is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in peer-review or design for electrical systems.
- Understanding of common causes of RFIs and change orders related to electrical design.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments independently.
- Familiarity with North American building standards.
- Collaborative and problem-solving mindset.
