Job Description
Windchill Migration QA
Experience: 4-7years
Location: Bangalore
Role & responsibilities
- 5+ years of QA/testing experience, preferably for PLM systems such as Windchill.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the quality of Windchill software through manual and automated testing.
- Develop, document, and execute test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on functional specifications and requirements.
- Work with SE team to develop right tests cases that ensures overall test coverage for a user story.
- To work with POs & BA to review test cases and discuss the functional specifications of the User stories.
- Identify, report, and track bugs, glitches, and system defects using issue tracking tools.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements, discuss defects, and define acceptance criteria.
- Validate functionality, performance, workflows, and integrations within Windchill PLM modules.
- Ensure thorough **regression and functional testing** for all releases and hotfixes.
- Review technical documentation to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Continually contribute to improving testing processes, techniques, and documentation efficiency.
Competencies:
- Proven expertise in validating large data sets, reconciliation, and migration processes.
- Familiarity with PLM migration tools, methodologies, and Windchill architecture.
- Solid understanding of data migration processes, including ETL, transformation, and validation.
- Experience with issue tracking and test management tools (such as JIRA, ALM, etc.).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working with SQL/database queries for data validation.
- Exposure to scripting languages (Shell, Python, etc.) for automation.
- Good understanding of product data management, engineering processes, and PLM workflows.
- Knowledge of **issue tracking systems** (JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)
- Good understanding of the **SDLC** and defect lifecycle
- Experience in manual testing & exposure to automated testing frameworks.
