Senior Power BI Analyst @ Apps Associates

Job Description

Job SummaryThe Senior Power BI Analyst will lead business intelligence efforts by designing, building, and maintaining advanced Power BI dashboards and reports. They will work closely with business stakeholders to translate needs into serviceable analytics, ensure data quality, performance, and act as a trusted advisor for datadriven decision making. This role will involve both technical depth (data modeling, DAX, ETL, etc.) and business acumen.Key ResponsibilitiesEngage with business stakeholders / senior management to gather reporting & analytical requirements; translate into technical specs for dashboards, KPIs, metrics.Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets; ensure they are intuitive, visually compelling, and deliver insight.Create complex data models, relationships, measures using DAX, Power Query / M, ensuring efficient performance.Perform ETL / data preparationcleaning, transforming, integrating data from different sources (databases, cloud, flat files, APIs).Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of existing Power BI reports/datasets/dataflows; ensure load times, refresh schedules, rendering are efficient.Implement security, rolebased access, rowlevel security (RLS), and governance around reports and data.Work with data engineering / data warehousing teams to ensure data pipelines are stable, accurate, and follow best practices.Ensure data integrity and conduct validation & reconciliation across reports.Maintain documentation: data definitions, technical design, report specs, versioning.Provide mentorship / support to more junior BI / report developers.Train and support end users; facilitate adoption of BI dashboards and selfservice analytics.Keep abreast of new BI tools, features, best practices; recommend improvements in data architecture, visualization, tools.
