Job Title: L1 Support Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an energetic L1 Support Engineer to provide day-to-day IT support for end-users. The role involves troubleshooting PCs and laptops, assisting with software/hardware issues, and having a basic understanding of firewall operations, network device configuration, and Linux/Ubuntu systems.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.

Troubleshoot operating systems (Windows, Linux/Ubuntu), drivers, and application issues.

Assist with installation and basic configuration of Linux/Ubuntu OS alongside Windows.

Support users with common Linux/Ubuntu issues (package installation, updates, connectivity, permissions).

Perform basic firewall checks (understanding rules, port access issues, escalation when required).

Support basic network device configurations (routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points).

Ensure proper connectivity (LAN, Wi-Fi) for end-users.

Maintain logs and update the ticketing system.

Support IT asset installation and routine health checks.

Provide remote assistance and escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams.

Requirements

Diploma/Graduate in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

0 - 2 years of IT support/helpdesk experience.

Basic knowledge of:

Windows OS & MS Office troubleshooting.

Linux/Ubuntu OS installation, updates, package management, and basic troubleshooting.

Hardware troubleshooting (PCs, laptops, printers).

Firewall concepts (rules, port blocking, access issues).

Network devices (basic configuration of switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points).

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

CCNA or similar Computer Hardware and networking course certification would be an added advantage.

Eagerness to learn and grow into advanced IT support roles.
