Job Description
Sutherland is seeking an analytical and strategic-thinking person to join us as Content Writer. We are looking for an enthusiastic Content Writer who is a self-learner to enrich client operations information with easy to follow articles or decision trees. Writers in this role get to:
Writing:
- Create self-service and assisted service troubleshooting articles for the operations team by reauthoring content for products
- Team to leverage open source, existing documentation, manufacturer content, client systems to create product related documents to reauthor articles
- Read through exhaustive open sources and documents to restructure information and create simple step-based and easy to follow articles
- Able to comprehend and write self-service articles and align to client tone of voice (instructional or conversational)
- Reauthoring of content will be aligned to DITA SOP and troubleshooting formats
- Reauthor and format content for DITA using editor or other tools
- Streamline processes and build flowcharts where applicable
- Publish content to KM (internal or third party)
Ensure Quality:
- Establish a style guide to author articles effectively to ensure consistency in article writing
- Creating new templates, if required, to author different article types
- Build the content taxonomy and include SEO words to enable quick search
- Work on preparing well-structured articles using authoring tool and prepare the articles for client Knowledge Management System
- Ultimately deliver quality writing articles to effectively troubleshoot queries. Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)
- Set up a quality process to ensure content governance for each article published
- Content team member must have previous experience and be able to author content in DITA XML using an editor
- Must have existing content writing experience of around 1.5 to 3 years
Strengthen relationships:
- Work with client team to create content for effective query resolution
Our most successful candidates will have:
- Proven experience as a content writer, technical writer or similar role
- Portfolio of published articles
- Experience doing research using multiple sources
- Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Graduate in any stream or related field
- Degree in English literature and journalism would be an added advantage
- Previous experience of working in DITA XML or similar tools would be an added advantage
- Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress, Oxygen) and content writing would be an added advantage
