Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and innovative Agriculture Engineer to design, develop, and improve farming equipment, irrigation systems, and agricultural processes to enhance productivity and sustainability. The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles to solve challenges in agriculture, working closely with farmers, researchers, and agronomists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop agricultural machinery, tools, and equipment to optimize farming operations.
- Plan and implement efficient irrigation and drainage systems for crop fields.
- Evaluate soil conservation and erosion control methods.
- Conduct research on sustainable farming techniques and renewable energy applications.
- Analyze farm operations and provide engineering solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with agronomists, biologists, and environmental scientists on agricultural projects.
- Manage installation, maintenance, and repair of agricultural infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Bachelors degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with a focus on agriculture, or related field.
- Proven experience in agricultural engineering or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of farm machinery, irrigation technology, and soil science.
- Familiarity with CAD software and engineering design tools.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
Desirable:
- Masters degree or specialized certification in Agricultural Engineering.
- Experience in precision agriculture, automation, or renewable energy in farming.
- Knowledge of GIS and remote sensing technologies.
- Field experience in different agricultural environments.
