Job Description
Role & responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Overnight Sr Citrix Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Citrix technologies and be able to perform maintenance, monitoring and support of the environment during overnight hours. In addition, play a vital role in future migrations from on-premises infrastructure to new cloud hosted solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain Citrix environment 24/7, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during overnight hours (Placing systems into maintenance mode, reinstalling and repairing VDA clients and other tools, etc.)
- Proactively identify and resolve potential problems before they become critical.
- Making sure to snap VMs while performing maintenance/Break-Fix scenarios.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and upgrades as necessary. (VDA and WEM Agent Upgrades via DaaS, and standard windows patching for both persistent and non-persistent (AppLyr) VDI).
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues and provide solutions to existing and future problems, projects and initiatives.
- Clearly and efficiently document procedures, incidents, and solutions for future reference.
Preferred candidate profile
- Must be ready to work in shift from 11 PM EST to 7 AM EST which means 9.30 AM IST to 5.30 PM IST.
- Strong experience with Citrix technologies (v7x and above), including Virtual Apps/Desktop (MCS), DaaS, Application Layering, Profile Management and WEM.
- Hands-on experience with DaaS, Analytics, ADM, WEM, NetScaler and Profile Management as well as other Citrix technologies (v7x and above).
- Firsthand experience in designing, building, configuring and maintaining Citrix on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Windows Workstations/Server OS, Active Directory, Policy Management, Storage and Networking.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work overnight and be available to respond to incidents outside of normal business hours.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
