What Youll Do (Responsibilities)
- Lead design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale Power BI dashboards / reports (including CXO/leadership dashboards)
- Build robust, reusable data models in Power BI (Power Query / VertiPaq / dataflows), ensure performance, maintainability, and scalability
- Expert use of DAX: write complex calculations, measures, and dynamic row / column security Rules
- Collaborate with SQL / Data Engineering / DW teams to integrate data from multiple sources, ensure ETL / ELT pipelines feed the visualization layer accurately
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy in the reporting layer
- Migrate existing dashboards / reporting from other BI tools to Power BI (if required)
- Work on dashboard rationalization: consolidate / optimize dashboards, reduce redundancy
- Embed Power BI reports (if needed) into other applications or portals, manage permissions, security, refresh schedules
- Define and enforce best practices for visualization, dashboard usability, chart / table selection, UX for data consumption by business users
- Mentor / guide junior & mid-level BI/Power BI developers
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, define KPIs, translate business problems into BI solutions
- Monitor and optimize performance of dashboards (e.g. model size, query optimization, load times)
- Contribute to setting up / refining the BI Centre of Excellence / governance (standards, versioning, deployment, documentation)
What Were Looking For (Skills & Qualifications)
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics or related field
- 6-9 years of experience in BI / Data Visualization roles, with at least 4 years deeply working with Power BI
- Strong SQL skills (writing complex queries, optimizing them, dealing with large datasets)
- Deep knowledge of Power BI: data modeling, Power Query, DAX, report & dashboard development
- Familiarity with BI stacks & tools around Power BI (version control, deployment pipelines, refresh scheduling etc.)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing / dimensional modeling (star, snowflake schemas)
- Experience with data sources / integration: relational DBs, cloud data warehouses, streaming / batch pipelines etc.
- Experience in designing CXO-level dashboards: ability to choose visualizations, craft stories & insights for executives
- Experience migrating or rationalizing large numbers of dashboards / reports is a plus
- Good communication: able to work with business, clarify requirements, explain findings and trade-offs
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, ability to work independently, drive decisionsRole & responsibilities
