About Position:
The Scrum Master for Data Engineering is a servant-leader and Agile facilitator for one or more CoreData Scrum Teams, specializing in data engineering initiatives. This role blends classic Scrum Master responsibilities with program management, ensuring the successful delivery of complex data projects, alignment with business objectives, and continuous improvement across distributed, cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do:
- Agile Facilitation & Team Leadership
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) for data engineering teams
- Foster a culture of transparency, trust, and continuous improvement among data engineers, analysts, and product owners.
- Remove impediments and proactively resolve blockers to maintain team momentum.
- Coach team members on Agile/Scrum best practices, with a focus on data engineering workflows and technical delivery.
- Data Engineering Program Management
- Coordinate and track multiple data engineering projects, ensuring alignment with quarterly forecasts and capacity plans.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and Data Architects to define priorities, deliverables, and success metrics.
- Oversee program-level planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication for large-scale data initiatives
- Maintain and update team rosters, including onshore/offshore, employee/contractor, and fixed-bid resources.
- Metrics, Reporting & Forecasting
- Track and report on team performance metrics (velocity, capacity, burndown) and contribute to quarterly and annual forecasting.
- Support resource planning and headcount management, ensuring optimal utilization across data engineering teams.
- Provide regular program status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between data engineering teams and program management, product, and operations.
- Ensure alignment with organizational objectives, compliance, and best practices in data engineering and Agile delivery.
- Drive adoption of new tools, technologies, and process improvements relevant to data engineering.
Expertise You'll Bring:
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master for data engineering or analytics teams in a large, distributed environment.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks, servant-leadership, and program management principles.
- Experience managing complex data engineering projects, including cloud migration, data pipelines, and analytics platforms.
- Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Agile project management tools, capacity planning, and forecasting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
