Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using FastAPI.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs for integration with frontend applications.
- Strong foundation on python & Pydantic for data validation and serialization.
- should have some background in Data Engineering/Analytics
- They should own Test/Quality engineering deliverables for the areas assigned.
- The engineers should be capable of understanding the DevOps and SRE practices in the Visa ecosystem and deliver functionality as needed to take the apps to production in a enterprise grade fashion.
- should have a very good design sense and be able to work on system/feature design with minimal guidance from the Visa Lead.
- Will be in charge of running/overseeing delivery of small scrum teams (4-5 folks) [includes scrum master responsibilities]
- Optimize backend systems for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure seamless integration.
- Write unit and integration tests for backend components.
- Debug and resolve issues in the backend codebase.
- Work with SQL databases and ORM frameworks ( sqlalchemy etc.) for data storage and retrieval.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in backend development.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong expertise in Python and FastAPI /Flask/Django.
- Proficiency in Pydantic for data modeling.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Familiarity with any Agentic Framework ( ex : Google ADK , CrewAI, Autogen )
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Hands on experience with GenAI tools like ChatGPT, CoPilot, Aider, Cline etc
- Need strong foundation on python , pydantic ,pyUnit and pytest
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Test Automation
- Hands-on experience with UI automation frameworks like Selenium or Robot Framework.
- Have a decent background in Public Cloud development.
- Example : Azure Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure AI Foundry, Azure Logic Apps, Microsoft CoPilot Studio / Microsoft Fabric.
- Familiarity with agentic application testing like eval will be a plus .
