Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the testing process for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) systems to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Design and implement ETL testing strategies and frameworks to validate data workflows and transformations.
- Collaborate with data engineers and developers to establish testing requirements and validate data pipelines.
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for ETL processes.
- Monitor data load processes and troubleshoot issues related to data quality, performance, and load errors.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quality engineers, fostering best practices in ETL testing methodologies.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and resolution strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for quality engineering and data governance.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of ETL testing efforts.
- Keep abreast of new testing tools and technologies, and recommend improvements to the testing infrastructure.
Our ideal candidate
- Advanced expertise in ETL testing, ensuring data integrity and quality in data-driven projects
- 5 to 10 years of experience in examining and validating Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes
- Experience in creating test plans and cases, executing tests, and ensuring data migration and transformation adhere to business requirements
- Proficiency in both manual and automated testing approaches
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with various ETL tools for optimizing and streamlining data processes
- Solid background in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying issues and implementing effective solutions throughout the ETL process
- Excellent communication skills for reporting findings and working cohesively within a team environment
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering or Master of Science (M.Sc) in Data Science
- Certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester and AWS Certified Big Data Specialty preferredRole & responsibilities
