Job Description
We are looking for a seasoned Fiber Engineering/ Expert with deep expertise in permitting processes for fiber optic network deployments. This role is critical in ensuring timely and compliant execution of fiber projects by navigating complex regulatory environments, securing necessary approvals, and coordinating with local authorities and stakeholders.
What will your job look like?
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all permitting activities for fiber deployment projects across multiple regions.
- Interpret and apply local, state, and national regulations related to fiber infrastructure.
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure permit requirements are integrated into project plans.
- Track and manage permit applications, timelines, and renewals using internal tools and databases.
- Resolve permitting issues and delays by proactively engaging with stakeholders and proposing solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of permitting guidelines, processes, and regulatory changes.
- Train and support engineering teams on permitting best practices and compliance requirements.
All you need is...
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in fiber network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on permitting.
- Strong understanding of fiber deployment methods (FTTx, backbone, metro) and associated regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience working with local authorities, DOTs, municipalities, and utility providers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with NetX,Bluebeam,IKE Office, QuickPole ,GIS tools(QGIS), AutoCAD, and permitting platforms (e.g., Accela, ePermit).
