Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Design and develop SPMs, automation systems, and custom machinery based on project requirements.
- Create 3D models, assembly layouts, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Conduct concept design reviews, perform design calculations, and ensure designs meet functional and safety requirements.
- Work closely with the production, electrical, and controls teams to ensure smooth integration of mechanical designs.
- Prepare BOMs (Bill of Materials) and maintain design documentation.
- Support in machine assembly, testing, and troubleshooting during prototype and production stages.
- Implement design changes, cost reduction ideas, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with vendors for component selection and manufacturing feasibility.
Preferred candidate profile
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, drafting, sheet metal, motion studies).
- Good knowledge of mechanical mechanisms, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation components.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, tolerances, GD&T).
- Experience in designing fixtures, jigs, conveyors, pick & place systems, or robotic integrations preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
