Job Description
The MECM Engineer will be responsible for managing endpoint lifecycle through Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, with strong focus on Windows patch management, software deployments, and application packaging
The role ensures secure, compliant, and we'll-managed endpoints across the organization
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly Windows patching cycles using MECM (ADR, SUG, SUP approvals)
- Perform Application Packaging and Deployment (MSI, MST, EXE, Scripts)
- Monitor and troubleshoot software update and application deployment failures
- Create and maintain Task Sequences, Collections, and Deployment Schedules
- Support OSD/Imaging activities (WIM, Task Sequence customization)
- Maintain MECM infrastructure components (DP, MP, SUP operational maintenance)
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and patch SLAs
- Generate and maintain patch compliance, deployment, and audit reports
- Coordinate with Security, Desktop, and Server teams for rollout planning
- Maintain SOPs, documentation, and deployment runbooks
Technical Skills
- MECM / SCCM Software Updates, SUP, ADRs, Collections, and Reports
- Application Packaging MSI, MST, EXE, App-V (nice to have), PowerShell/VBScript
- Patch Management (Windows 10/11, Servers basic understanding is a plus)
- OS Deployment (OSD) Task Sequences, PXE Boot (working knowledge)
- WSUS Integration and update troubleshooting
- Basic SQL queries for reporting/log checks
- PowerShell scripting (medium level preferred)
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good communication and coordination with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and handle patch windows/change windows
- Documentation and process-oriented approach
Qualifications
- bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Microsoft certifications (MECM/MD-102/MDM)
