Job Description
Role Overview
As an SDE-II at OYO, you will contribute to designing, developing, and enhancing large-scale, high-performance systems that serve millions of users. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to drive technical excellence, solve complex problems, and ship impactful features with quality and speed.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance services and applications.
- Own end-to-end development of features-from requirements to production deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, Data) to deliver robust solutions.
- Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high engineering standards.
- Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability through continuous optimization.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term fixes.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall engineering culture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer in a product-based or tech-driven company.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Python, Go, Node.js, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Exposure to message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Angular) is a plus.
- Contributions to open-source or relevant technical communities.
