Overview / Objective
We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to build modern cloud-based data platforms from the ground up. You will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and integrations that unlock the value of data assets to provide competitive advantage. The role involves working in an agile environment to deliver scalable, cost-efficient, and high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy software to generate data assets (relational and non-relational) for downstream BI and data science teams.
- Work with big data and cloud technologies, including AWS EC2, Lambda, Glue, Airflow, dbt, Redshift, and others.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful design and development of data assets.
- Create reusable software artifacts and patterns for the Data Engineering team.
- Build scalable, resilient data pipelines with high standards of quality, metadata management, and validation.
- Contribute to cross-functional Agile teams for end-to-end delivery of business needs.
- Improve data management processes for acquiring, transforming, and storing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand current processes and promote best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on data.
- Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift).
- Expertise in Python and SQL, including query optimization for relational, NoSQL, and columnar databases.
- Hands-on experience with big data processing and orchestration tools such as dbt and Airflow.
