Job Responsibilities
Summary
The Technology Data Solutions (TDS) business unit is the Syneos Health accelerator for life sciences innovation. TDS houses our advanced technology acquisitions, homegrown products applications, actively participates in new MA and partnership activities, delivers critical insights as part of our integrated strategy for customers and drives enterprise-wide adoption and change management for innovative tech data solutions. Our work supports getting meaningful new medicines to patients faster, with greater positive impact. The User Experience Designer II supports our business goals by assisting with the design of the user interface and the overall experience for new software products in support of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Understand the problem the user in order to design the right applications, mostly web-based but also mobile-based.
- Work independently to solve open-ended questions.
- Conduct UX research, interviews, and workshops.
- Create conceptual diagrams, wireframes, workflows, visual mockups, and clickable prototypes.
- Test hypotheses through usability testing and participate in design critique.
- Assist with designing data visualizations, charts, tables, and other interactive dashboard elements that communicate information clearly and quickly.
- Support in establishing a UX/UI design system, process, and methodology.
- Create a unified style guide to be used across digital product.
- Present design work to internal and client teams for review.
- Develop sketches, prototypes, and spec work for pitch / new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in any field required.
- Experience with intuitive and attractive user interfaces for enterprise products with interactive data interfaces: dashboards, HUDs, visualizations, etc.
- Understanding of data structures, data analysis, and data visualizations. Ability to translate Excel documents into compelling visualizations.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma (must have), Sketch or InVision;, Lucid Chart, Miro, or Mural; as well as Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar. Working knowledge of Excel.
- Experience working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as data and graphing libraries like d3.js and Highcharts.
- Experience with PowerBI and Tableau, and experience adjusting UI design to technical limitations of BI platforms.
- Experience with design systems and creating/maintaining styles.
- Experience collaborating with Data Scientists, Business Analysts and Marketing Clients.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodology and working within a software development lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of relevant best practices and theory. Strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
