Job Description
Role Overview
As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality through a combination of strong functional testing and test automation. You will actively contribute to framework-based automation, identify quality risks early, and work closely with development and product teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, with opportunities to grow into a senior quality engineering role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance & Delivery
- Design, develop, and execute test cases for functional, regression, and smoke testing
- Identify gaps, edge cases, and potential risks in product requirements and implementations
- Ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical requirements
- Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, providing quality-related inputs
2. Test Automation
- Contribute to automation frameworks such as BDD, TestNG, Hybrid, or similar
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright
- Execute automated test suites and analyze failures to provide clear defect insights
- Collaborate with developers to ensure automation is stable and maintainable
3. Collaboration & Process
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA members to ensure end-to-end quality
- Log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Continuously improve testing approaches, tools, and practices within the team
Key Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 35 years of experience in software testing (manual + automation)
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as BDD, TestNG, Hybrid, or equivalent
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, Python, or TypeScript
- Practical experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright
- Strong understanding of functional testing concepts and defect lifecycle
Testing & Quality Mindset
- Strong analytical skills to identify functional gaps and edge cases in products
- Ability to understand business workflows and translate them into effective test scenarios
- Solid knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies
Soft Skills
- Clear communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and testing approaches
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution
- Experience with API testing or basic SQL is a plus
- Prior experience working on medium-scale applications or products
