Role & responsibilities
Job Title: Test Lead API & Automation Testing
Experience: 8 to 12 years
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Test Lead with strong expertise in API testing (REST & SOAP), automation, and test framework development. The ideal candidate will have solid coding skills, hands-on experience with ReadyAPI / CA DevTest / Parasoft, and good knowledge of orchestration, integration, and queue/scheduler-based applications. This role requires a self-driven individual who can lead testing initiatives, mentor the team, and ensure high-quality deliverables across complex integration systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end testing activities for API-based applications (REST & SOAP).
- Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using Groovy or Java.
- Develop and enhance testing frameworks using open-source tools/frameworks such as REST Assured, etc.
- Perform integration testing across multiple systems and ensure seamless orchestration between applications.
- Validate queue-based and scheduler-based applications to ensure proper data flow and process execution.
- Conduct performance testing and analyze system behavior under load.
- Review test strategies, plans, and results to ensure full test coverage and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, business analysts, and DevOps) for timely issue resolution.
- Mentor and guide the testing team, fostering continuous improvement in testing processes and automation practices.
- Drive adoption of automation best practices and ensure reusability of scripts and frameworks.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience in API testing (REST and SOAP).
- Expertise in ReadyAPI / CA DevTest / Parasoft toolset.
- Proficiency in automation testing and scripting (Groovy or Java preferred).
- Good at framework development using open-source tools/frameworks such as REST Assured, etc.
- Strong understanding of orchestration, integration, queue-based, and scheduler-based applications.
- Experience in integration testing and performance testing.
- Proven experience in test framework design and development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
- Knowledge of cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure).
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (New Relic, Splunk, etc.).
