Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

• Ensures all investigation reports advised by the doctor are available for the doctors perusal.
• Assists in normal deliveries and is knowledgeable about gestational age assessment and special conditions of premature, post-mature, small-for-gestational-age, and large-for-gestational-age neonates.
• May be required to assist clinicians with administering medication, inducing labour, monitoring fetal heart rate, and performing similar tasks.
• Administers drugs according to the Drug Administration Policy.
• Ensures administration of high-risk medicines is counter-checked by a second nurse in accordance with the 10 Medication Rights and documentation policy.
• Observes the patient to ensure safety and to identify any adverse reactions.
• Reports any medication errors, adverse reactions, or nursing interventions immediately to the In-Charge and Nursing Superintendent (NS); completes the ADR form in case of adverse drug reactions.
