Job Description
Job Title: Ms Sql Database Administrator
Experience: 3 to 6 Years
Mandatory Skills: MS SQL DBA , Golden Gate, RMAN, PL/SQL
Desired Skills: MS SQL Server Database Support, Oracle Database Support, DB2 Database Support
Location: Bangalore
Job Type: Permanent/Full-time Position
Shift Details: 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM or 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM & 5 Days (WFO)
Core Responsibilities:
- Installation and Configuration:
- Installing and configuring SQL Server instances and databases.
- Setting up and maintaining database servers and processes.
- Configuring security measures, including user accounts and permissions.
- Maintenance and Management:
- Regularly performing database maintenance tasks, such as indexing and updating statistics.
- Monitoring database performance and identifying potential bottlenecks.
- Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
- Analyzing, solving, and correcting issues in real-time.
- Backup and Recovery:
- Designing and implementing robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Performing regular database backups and managing backup storage.
- Performing recovery procedures in case of data loss or system failures.
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
- Identifying and addressing performance issues in SQL Server databases.
- Optimizing queries and database schema for improved performance.
- Collaborating with developers to ensure efficient database usage.
- Security:
- Implementing and enforcing security policies and procedures.
- Managing user access and permissions.
- Monitoring for and responding to security threats.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Providing 24/7 support for critical production systems.
- Performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities.
- Documenting changes and procedures.
- Training employees in database management and use.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest SQL Server technologies and best practices.
- Working with other IT teams, such as network and server administrators, to ensure the smooth operation of the database infrastructure.
