Job Description
A Well Testing Operator runs tests on oil and gas wells to check performance (pressure, flow, fluid type) using specialized equipment, focusing heavily on safety (HSE), data collection, reporting, and maintenance, working in remote fields to ensure wells are productive and meet standards. They rig up/down gear, operate pumps/manifolds, collect data (flow rates, pressures), ensure quality control, maintain equipment, and report findings to supervisors for analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Operations:** Set up, operate, and tear down testing equipment (pumps, manifolds, sensors).
Data Collection:** Monitor and record well data like pressure, flow rate, fluid volume, and salinity.
Safety & Compliance:** Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), lead safety meetings, enforce HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) rules, and manage hazards.
Maintenance:** Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs on equipment and vehicles.
Reporting:** Prepare and submit accurate daily reports, logs, and incident reports.
Teamwork:** Communicate effectively with crew, supervisors, and clients, ensuring smooth rig-up/down and operations.
