Job Description
- Job Description: Weu re looking for an experienced SAP Basis Consultant with strong hands-on expertise across SAP BTP, RISE with SAP upgrades and migrations, OS/DB Migration, and advanced proficiency with SAP SUM (Software Up Manager)
- The ideal candi will lead system conversion and migration activities (including S/4HANA transformations) and ensure robust platform stability, performance, security, and compliance across cloud and on-prem landscapes
- Job Locations:-Bangalore , Bhubaneswar, Pune , Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mysuru, Mangalore Key Responsibilities End-to-end Basis Administration Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (ECC/S/4HANA, BW, PO, SolMan, etc) across RISE/private cloud/public cloud/on-prem
- Manage client copy, transports, system refreshes, user/role administration, and RFC/SM59 connectivity
- RISE with SAP Upgrades & Migrations Lead system conversions (eg, ECC to S/4HANA) using SAP SUM (DMO/MC)
- Plan and execute RISE migrations, including downtime-optimized approaches and maintenance planner workflows
- Perform OS/DB migration (heterogeneous/homogeneous), manage HANA DB migrations, and handle Unicode conversion where applicable
- SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) Coordinate Basis foundations for BTP services (Cloud Foundry/Kyma), connectivity (Cloud Connector), destinations, security, and integration (SAP CI/PI)
- Support extensions/integrations between BTP and core SAP systems; ensure secure and performant operations
- Performance, Availability & Security Monitor and tune application server and database performance (HANA/ASE/Oracle/MS SQL)
- Implement HA/DR, backup/restore, system hardening, audit readiness, and patching (kernel/support packages)
- Ensure SNC/SSO, certificates, SAP Note implementation, and security audits (SUIM/SOH/RSUSR)
- Tools & Monitoring Use SAP SUM, SWPM, Maintenance Planner, SPAM/SAINT, DBA Cockpit, HANA Studio, Solution Manager, Focused Run, or SAP Cloud ALM for lifecycle management
- Automate routine tasks using Shell scripting/Ansible/Python (nice-to-have)
- Documentation & Stakeholder Management Create runbooks, migration plans, cutover strategies, and post-migration validation documents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (app, infra, network, security) and provide on-call support during critical events
- Must-Have Qualifications 4u 8 years of hands-on SAP Basis experience
- Deep expertise in SAP SUM (DMO/System Conversion/Migration) for S/4HANA and RISE landscapes
- Proven Upgrade & Migration experience: RISE, OS/DB Migration, HANA migrations, Unicode (as applicable)
- Experience with SAP BTP foundations: Cloud Connector, Destinations, Security, and connectivity to SAP ERP/S/4HANA
- Strong in performance tuning, transport management, kernel/hotfix up , support pack stack upgrades
- Proficient with Solution Manager / Cloud ALM and HANA administration (backup/restore, traces, sizing, monitoring)
- Solid understanding of networking (ports, FQDN, load balancers, proxies), certificates, and SSO/SNC
- Preferred/Good-to-Have Experience with Downtime-Optimized Conversion and Near-Zero Downtime techniques
- Exposure to RISE private cloud operations and coordination with hyperscalers (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Familiarity with SAP Security Baselines, GRC, and audit/compliance
- Knowledge of automation (Ansible, Terraform basics) and DevOps pipelines for change orchestration
- Experience with SAP CPS/Redwood, Job Management, and Interface Monitoring
- Education & Certifications Bacheloru s in Computer Science/Engineering/IT or equivalent
- Preferred Certifications: SAP Certified Technology Associate u System Administration (SAP HANA) SAP Certified Technology Professional u System Conversion to S/4HANA SAP BTP certifications (Administration/Integration) (nice-to-have) Soft Skills Strong ownership, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving
- Clear communication with business and technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in fast-paced, customer-facing environments with on-call rotation
