SAP Basis Migration @ Newbie Soft Solutions

Job Description

Skillset required

• SAP Basis upgrade and migration consultant.
• SAP Portal upgrade and migration consultant.

Pre-Upgrade Assessment & Planning

• Review current SAP NetWeaver 7.4 landscape (system components, custom applications, interfaces).
• Prepare detailed upgrade and migration strategy, including export/import plan, cutover, and rollback procedures.
• Identify system dependencies and assess compatibility with SAP NetWeaver 7.5.
• Confirm readiness of OS, database, and network components.

New System Build

• Installation/upgrade and configuration of SAP NetWeaver 7.5 Java Stack on new Windows servers.
• Database installation/upgrade and configuration with Oracle 19c (or latest supported version).
• Apply latest SAP kernel, patches, and SAP support packages.
• Configuration of system parameters, profiles, and environment variables as per SAP best practices.

System Migration (Export/Import)

• Perform export/import or other SAP-recommended migration methods from the existing system.
• Migrate portal content, roles, users, and custom developments.
• Validate interfaces and connectivity with dependent SAP systems (e.g., ECC).

Post-Upgrade Configuration

• Re-establish connectivity, certificates, and Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations.
• Apply required system tuning and optimization parameters.
• Validate scheduled jobs, system logs, and background processes.
• Implement post-upgrade SAP notes and configuration adjustments.

Validation and Testing

• Conduct initial functional validation and sanity checks.
• Execute technical and performance testing to confirm system stability.
• Document and resolve any post-upgrade issues.
• Obtain user and technical team sign-off post-validation.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Deliver detailed documentation on system build, configurations, and migration steps.
• Provide test reports, issue logs, and final validation summary.
• Conduct knowledge transfer and handover sessions to customer technical teams.
