Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to design, build, and govern scalable data architectures that support advanced analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will lead enterprise data architecture initiatives, ensure data quality and security, and work closely with engineering, analytics, and business teams.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and define enterprise-level data architecture including data models, data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts
- Lead the development of scalable, high-performance data platforms on cloud and on-prem environments
- Define data integration patterns (ETL/ELT, streaming, batch processing)
- Establish and enforce data governance, data quality, and metadata management standards
- Design logical, physical, and conceptual data models
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analytics teams, and Business stakeholders
- Drive cloud data architecture using AWS, Azure, or GCP services
- Define security, compliance, and access control policies for data platforms
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies, tools, and frameworks
- Optimize data storage, performance, and cost efficiency
- Mentor junior data architects and engineers
- Support advanced use cases including AI/ML, real-time analytics, and big data processing
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Data Architecture & Design
- Expertise in Data Warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schemas)
- Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, Airflow, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Cloud Data Services:
- AWS: Redshift, Glue, S3, Lake Formation
- Azure: Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS
- GCP: BigQuery, Dataflow
- Experience with Data Lake / Lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi)
Data Governance & Security
- Data governance frameworks and best practices
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Metadata management and data lineage
- Data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
Preferred Certifications
- AWS / Azure / GCP Data Architect certifications
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification
Nice to Have
- Experience in AI/ML data pipelines
- Knowledge of real-time streaming architectures
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
