Job Description
Position Title: Junior Planning Engineer & Billing (BOM & BOQ)
No. of Openings:02
Experience: 02 to 03 years
Location: Ahmedabad
Salary: Up to 40,000 per month (based on experience)
Joining: Immediate / ASAP
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare master construction schedules, including phase-wise and activity-wise planning using Primavera P6 / MS Project
- Develop baseline schedules and look-ahead plans (weekly / monthly)
- Monitor project progress against planned schedules
- Identify delays, bottlenecks, and critical path activities
- Prepare recovery plans and revised schedules as required
- Coordinate with site teams, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution
2. Billing & Measurement
- Prepare RA Bills, Running Account Bills, and Final Bills
- Verify site measurements as per approved drawings and BOQ
- Check and certify subcontractor bills and quantities
- Prepare client bills along with required supporting documents
- Ensure billing compliance with contract terms, BOQ rates, and specifications
- Maintain Measurement Books (MB) and complete billing records
3. Cost Control & Budget Monitoring
- Track project costs against approved budgets
- Monitor material consumption and labor productivity
- Prepare cost variance and budget monitoring reports
- Assist in budget forecasting and cash flow planning
- Control extra items, deviations, and variation orders
4. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, consultants, and clients
- Attend project review meetings and present planning and billing status
- Coordinate with the accounts department for invoice processing and payments
- Liaise with PMC / Client / Consultant for approvals and clarifications
5. Contract & Claims Management
- Interpret contract agreements, tender documents, and BOQ
- Prepare variation statements and extra item rate analyses
- Assist in delay analysis and claims preparation
- Maintain documentation for EOT (Extension of Time) claims
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
- Maintain MIS reports related to planning, billing, and cost control
- Prepare billing abstracts, reconciliation statements, and summaries
- Ensure proper documentation for audit and project handover
7. Project Close-Out
- Finalize as-built schedules
- Assist in final account settlement
- Prepare completion reports and billing summaries
- Support preparation of handover documentation
Key Skills Required
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 / MS Project
- Strong command of Advanced MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, reporting)
- In-depth knowledge of BOQ, billing, and contracts
- Understanding of cost control and project reporting
- Good communication and coordination skills
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
- 2 to 3 years of experience in planning, billing, and cost control for real estate / construction projects
- Hands-on experience in project planning, BOQ-based billing, and quantity take-offs from start to project close-out
- Strong technical knowledge of civil construction and finishing works
- Good understanding of drawings, BOQ, specifications, and construction standards
- Experience in RA bills, subcontractor billing, client billing, and cost monitoring
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced level) and exposure to ERP / project management systems is an added advantage
