Job Description
Education Qualification: Any graduation or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Position Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Functional Test Engineer with strong expertise in manual testing and a solid understanding of SDLC and STLC processes. The ideal candidate should be able to independently design, execute, and manage test activities across various phases of the software testing lifecycle.
- Perform Functional Testing based on business and functional specifications
- Design comprehensive test cases, execute them, and prepare detailed test reports
- Apply test design techniques such as Equivalence Partitioning, Boundary Value Analysis, etc
- Create and maintain a Traceability Matrix to ensure complete coverage between requirements, test cases, and defects
- Conduct Defect Analysis and clearly communicate issues with development teams, providing detailed steps to reproduce
- Execute Regression Testing, System Testing, and End-to-End (E2E) Testing to ensure system stability
- Manage defects through their complete Defect Life Cycle, ensuring proper tracking and closure
- Work with Test Management Tools such as JIRA/XRay, TFS, or HP ALM for planning and reporting
- Write and execute basic SQL queries for database validation and backend testing
- (Preferred) Perform Cross-browser Testing, API Testing, and Mobile Device Testing as required
- Execute automation scripts when necessary and assist in automation maintenance activities
- Collaborate within Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Demonstrate strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and ensure quality delivery
- Expertise in Functional Testing and solid understanding of SDLC/STLC
- Proficiency in Test Case Design, Execution, and Defect Management
- Hands-on experience with JIRA/XRay, TFS, or HP ALM
- Working knowledge of SQL and database testing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and self-motivation
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and sprint-based testing
- Good to Have:Exposure to API, Cross-browser, and Mobile Testing
- Basic understanding of Automation Testing and ability to execute automation scripts
