Role Summary
The Data Architect will lead the design and implementation of a modern data platform using a hybrid ELT approach (Fivetran + DBT + PostgreSQL). The role ensures robust architecture, metadata management, data lineage, and a scalable, low-maintenance environment for analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement end-to-end data architecture (BronzeSilverGold layers).
- Design ELT framework using Fivetran for ingestion and DBT for transformation.
- Establish data governance and quality frameworks aligned with Purview.
- Translate KPI and business requirements into logical and physical data models.
- Define CI/CD deployment model using Azure DevOps or equivalent.
- Optimize data performance, scalability, and cost across Azure and PostgreSQL environments.
- Produce architecture blueprints, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and runbooks.
- Support knowledge transfer and training for internal data teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years in data architecture or data engineering.
- Proven expertise with, DBT, Fivetran, PostgreSQL, and modern data lake or warehouse concepts.
- Strong understanding of metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks.
- Experience designing low-code, modular ELT/ETL solutions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps pipelines.
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder management skills.
Good to have:
- Experience with Azure Purview
- Experience delivering KPI-based data warehouse or analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of Salesforce data models.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate or similar.
