Review proofs (typeset PDFs and Word files) for typographical, grammatical,

punctuation, and formatting errors.

Check for consistency in headings, captions, numbering, font usage, and page

layout.

Verify placement of figures, tables, and illustrations with corresponding callouts.
Cross-check corrections from previous proofing rounds have been incorporated.
Ensure consistency in style and tone according to house or journal style guides

(e.g., Chicago, APA, MLA, AMA, OXCOLA).

Highlight and query unclear or questionable content or layout issues.
Mark corrections clearly using markup tools such as PDF annotations, Track

Changes, or proofreading symbols.

Collaborate with copyeditors, designers, typesetters, and project managers to

ensure quality and timely delivery.

Maintain version control and follow project tracking systems.
