We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead / Manager to drive and manage end-to-end data migration programs for core banking systems. The candidate will lead legacy-to-new application migrations, version upgrades, and client-side transition projects, ensuring accuracy, performance, and regulatory compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end data migration projects for Core Banking Systems (Flexcube, Finacle, TCS BaNCS, T24, OBDX, etc.).
- Define and execute data migration strategy, roadmap, and methodology (ETL, staging, validation, reconciliation).
- Lead requirement analysis, source-to-target mapping, and transformation rules for banking data (customers, accounts, loans, GL, transactions, etc.).
- Manage data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, and quality checks to ensure integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to design optimal migration solutions.
- Execute mock runs, dress rehearsals, and cut-over planning for go-live.
- Manage migration issue tracking, resolution, and reporting with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security standards, and audit requirements.
- Provide leadership to onsite/offshore migration teams, ensuring timelines and quality deliverables.
- Work closely with business users and client stakeholders during UAT, validation, and reconciliation.
- Support post-migration stabilization and performance optimization.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8-15 years of IT experience, with 5+ years in banking data migration projects.
- Proven experience with CBS migration and upgrades Flexcube, Finacle, TCS BaNCS, T24, OBDX, or similar.
- Strong understanding of banking business processes: deposits, lending, payments, GL, treasury, etc.
- Hands-on expertise in data migration tools and ETL frameworks (Informatica, DataStage, ODI, Pentaho, custom SQL/PLSQL scripts).
- Strong skills in Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or DB2 for migration and reconciliation.
- Experience in data validation, reconciliation frameworks, and audit reporting.
- Strong knowledge of cut-over strategy, roll-back planning, and risk management.
- Exposure to cloud-based banking migrations (Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus.
- Excellent stakeholder management, client engagement, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior onsite migration project experience in banks or large financial institutions.
- Certification in banking products (Finacle, Flexcube, T24, etc.) is an added advantage.
- Experience in Agile/DevOps delivery models for migration projects.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization during migration cycles.
