The Manager Database Operations will lead and oversee the global database operations team responsible for managing and supporting enterprise-grade database platforms, including SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, RDS, UDB and Snowflake. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and compliance of critical data assets across on-premises and cloud environments. The manager will drive operational excellence through ITIL-based processes, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives, while collaborating with engineering and development teams for upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects.
Ensure adherence to ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Oversee database compliance, security controls, and audit readiness.
Lead capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies.
Drive automation and operational efficiency initiatives.
Collaborate with engineering teams for upgrades, migrations, and re-platforming.
Mentor and develop a team of DBAs and database engineers.
Operational Risk Mitigation: Without a dedicated manager, there is increased risk of SLA breaches, compliance failures, and operational inefficiencies.
