Profile: Data Engineer (GCP Engineer)
Experience: 5-8 years
Location: PAN(Noida, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai)

Overview of the Role: As a GCP Data Engineer at HCLTech, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data architectures and analytics platforms, ensuring seamless data integration and supporting strategic business decisions. Your expertise will directly contribute to HCLTechs mission of delivering innovative solutions and driving value for global clients.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize large-scale data pipelines leveraging GCP services, primarily Google BigQuery and Dataflow.
- Design and implement robust data models and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Write efficient, high-quality code using programming languages such as Python or Java to automate data workflows.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, applying strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Document technical designs, processes, and best practices for ongoing knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members as needed.
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in cloud data engineering and GCP services.
Skill Requirements
- Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with relational databases.
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages, specifically Python or Java.
- Extensive practical experience with Google Cloud Platform, with a strong emphasis on:
- Google Big Query (MUST HAVE)
- Dataflow (MUST HAVE)
- Google Cloud Platform ecosystem (DESIRED)
- Google Cloud Storage (DESIRED)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Other Requirements (Optional)
- GCP certification (e.g., Professional Data Engineer) is highly desirable.
- Experience with additional cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
