Job Description
Mechanical | Automotive Product Design Intern (Mechanical or Equivalent Engineering)
Position: Trainee Engineer (Automotive Design Internship)
Location: Hyderabad
Purpose:
Develop industry-relevant automotive product design capability using mechanical engineering principles and structured design methodology.
Technical Learning Scope:
Mechanical engineering application in automotive component design
Functional requirement analysis and design intent definition
Concept generation based on performance, safety, durability, and cost targets
Material selection considering strength, weight, manufacturability, and lifecycle cost
Dimensional design philosophy and tolerance allocation
Design for manufacturability and assembly considerations
Design Knowledge Exposure:
Engineering drawings and design intent interpretation
Automotive design standards and compliance requirements
Load paths, stress behavior, and failure mechanisms
Design-to-price and cost-driven engineering decisions
Design Methodology & Problem Solving:
Requirement analysis and problem definition
Conceptual to detailed design workflow
Engineering trade-off studies and optimization
Root cause analysis and structured problem solving
Eligibility:
Mechanical Engineering students (final year) or recent graduates
Strong interest in automotive product design
Graduates from the following streams (Batch: 2023 / 2024 / 2025 and 2026)
Mechanical Engineering | Automobile Engineering
Production Engineering | CITD / NTTF
Plastics & Polymer Engineering | Metal / Tool Engineering
or Equivalent Engineering)
