Job Description
Role: DevOps Engineer
Duration: Contract
Location: Remote
Work timing: US EST Hours (6:30 PM IST onwards)
Job Summary:
Information Technology Solutions (ITS) team is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong Azure cloud expertise to support SaaS, web, and custom development platforms.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in establishing and leading DevOps practices, designing CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable deployments across multiple platforms. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage end-to-end DevOps pipelines (CI/CD) using Azure DevOps
- Lead and promote DevOps best practices across development and infrastructure teams
- Automate build, deployment, testing, monitoring, and infrastructure provisioning
- Design and manage Azure DevOps architectures, including pipelines and repositories
- Manage source control systems (Git) including branching, merging, and integration strategies
- Integrate static code analysis and security tools (SonarQube, Checkmarx, Orca, etc.)
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform
- Monitor hosting environments to ensure SLA compliance
- Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues, including production escalations
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues at code and system levels
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve application and performance issues
- Maintain strong technical documentation
- Ensure adherence to organizational standards, policies, and security best practices
- Support Agile delivery processes using tools such as Azure Boards
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills:
- 6+ years of overall IT experience
- 35 years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including build and release pipelines
- Strong experience in Azure cloud architecture and design
- 2+ years of scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (mandatory)
- Experience working on Linux-based infrastructure
- Strong experience with CI/CD, SDLC, and Agile methodologies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) on Azure
- Experience with static code analysis and security tools (SonarQube, Checkmarx, HCL AppScan, Orca, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools (Selenium, unit testing frameworks)
- Experience with microservices and distributed systems

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence without authority
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Strong virtual meeting and cross-team coordination abilities
Education:
- Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Information Technology or a related field (preferred)
